CASHMERE HAS BEEN POPULAR FOR GENERATIONS, AND ASSOCIATED WITH THE ELITE LIFESTYLE FOR EVEN LONGER. I WAS INTRODUCED TO CASHMERE IN MY EARLY 20’S, AND I INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE FABRIC! IT WAS A CASHMERE SWEATER GIVEN TO ME AS A GIFT FOR MY BIRTHDAY. IF YOU HAVE NEVER FELT CASHMERE, A.K.A.THE SOFT GOLD”, FEEL IT FOR YOURSELF! IT WILL BE THE ONLY MATERIAL YOU WILL EVER WANT AGAINST YOUR SKIN.

I wonder why I had never purchased a cashmere sweater for myself. Like others, I had preconceptions regarding cashmere; I considered it to be a luxury item and expensive for no reason (I was a broke student at the time). The truth is, I lacked knowledge on the benefits of this unique material, which actually justify its premium price. Cashmere is an amazing and natural fiber that is extremely addictive once you have acquired your first piece. While cashmere has always been considered a luxury item, its prices have actually started to vary as the material’s popularity has grown and more companies have begun to make affordable cashmere outfits.

When I had my first baby, I couldn’t find any other material that had as many benefits for babies as cashmere did. That is the story behind the creation of my clothing brand Mila Christina CASHMERE FOR BABIES & KIDS.

If you still frown upon dressing your special little ones in cashmere, you might want to reconsider after reading this:

Cashmere is 100% Natural!

Cashmere yarn comes from the undercoat of a cashmere goat, an animal that lives mainly in Mongolia and China. It is 100% natural. Despite the recent rise in synthetic materials, especially within the baby clothing industry, nothing compares to the feel of natural fabrics, especially when it comes to your baby. Why put a material that has been engineered in a lab or crafted with unwanted chemicals on your baby’s delicate skin? Using 100% natural fibers is always a safer way to go to lower the risk of your baby developing an allergy to its clothing. IT’S THE REAL THING!

Soothing and Promotes Sleep

Cashmere is one of the softest materials available for babies. Its soft texture soothes and comforts the fussy ones. With its skin-friendly and thermo-regulation properties, babies have been proven to sleep better and longer while wearing cashmere.

Gentle and Hypoallergenic

Possibly, due to memories of cheap, scratchy wool sweaters from their childhoods, mine comes from a scratchy blue wool blanket, some customers are concerned that our cashmere baby bodysuits and kids’ cashmere sweaters may irritate their baby’s skin or make them itch. NOOOO THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN!

Cashmere fibers are soft and feel great against the skin. The fibers are much finer than wool and are spun tightly to produce a smooth, soft texture feel that is nothing but comfortable and will not irritate your little one’s sensitive skin.

Have you ever worn a sweater that instantly makes you sneeze or your eyes water? Not a good experience. Cashmere, fortunately, has HYPOALLERGENIC properties, which means a low-risk of developing skin allergies. If your baby suffers from skin allergies, you may want to choose our cashmere baby bodysuits for this reason. When worn, it will not irritate their skin, nor trigger an allergic reaction. This unique property of cashmere makes it a desirable choice for baby clothes and blankets, especially for babies with skin allergies and eczema.

Keeps them Warm & Cozzzzyyy

Cashmere is extremely light and yet is still 3 times warmer than regular sheeps wool, which makes cashmere the ideal winter essential for babies of all ages. It feels incredibly snug and lush against your skin. Up to around 18 months old, babies find it hard to regulate their own temperature. This is due to the size of the surface area of their skin compared to their body weight. Little ones, especially if they are sick or were born prematurely, can lose body heat quickly if they are not kept warm enough. In fact, they need to be kept a little warmer than the average baby. Mila Christina cashmere baby bodysuits will do the job just fine!

Thermo-regulating abilities

Parents often worry that our cashmere baby bodysuits and kids’ cashmere sweaters will make their babies hot and sweaty.  Well let me tell you another unique quality of cashmere: cashmere is a versatile fabric and high in moisture content, which allows the fibers to easily adapt to the body’s temperature. This means that cashmere has the ability to keep your baby’s body warm in colder temperatures and cool in hotter temperatures. Unlike synthetic fibers, which can leave you hot and sweaty, cashmere allows your body to breathe, which helps regulate the body's temperature.

You can rarely find a fabric that provides such good insulation and air flow at the same time.

Sooo Comfy

Cashmere is popular for its plush, silky and luxury feel, which comes from the high loft fiber (air within the fiber). Cashmere is extremely lightweight, so it doesn’t bulk up your baby too much in the wintertime, making them feel very uncomfortable.

THE SPRINGINESS OF THE CASHMERE FIBERS GIVES IT GOOD ELASTICITY - IT STRETCHES REALLY WELL AND GOES BACK INTO SHAPE WHICH ALLOWS EASE OF MOVEMENT FOR THOSE ACTIVE BABIES.
OUR CASHMERE BABY BODYSUITS ARE EASY TO PUT ON YOUR BABY - AND TO TAKE OFF AS WELL. THERE IS MUCH LESS FIDDLING AROUND WITH ARMS AND THINGS - MAKING YOUR BABY HAPPIER, AND YOUR LIFE EASIER.

It will last:

Wool fibers can be bent and twisted over 30,000 times without breaking, while cotton can only bend 3,000 times. Cashmere will endure the wear-and-tear that comes with active kids.

Additionally, cashmere has been proven to get softer as it gets older, meaning it is only going to improve in comfort, and will look better with time.

If you plan on having more children, our unisex cashmere baby bodysuits can easily be passed down from one sibling to another or given to a friend or family member who is expecting a baby. Cashmere is timeless and will never go out of style. For both of my children, I got most of their clothes from friends and family, and I was very grateful to find some gems!

Who doesn’t like looking chic?

Our cashmere baby bodysuits and cashmere kids’ sweaters can be worn as an everyday garment or dressed up for any special occasion - taking your little ones from the playground to a playdate in style. If the elegant appearance of our cashmere baby bodysuits and kids’ cashmere sweaters is not enough to convince you then…

The ideal gift

A durable, thoughtful keepsake present, cashmere really is the perfect newborn baby gift for any expecting mother, or any family that has recently welcomed a baby into their home. Unlike polyester, cashmere is breathable and super soft, which makes it suitable for newborn babies, including the ones with incredibly sensitive skin.

Low maintenance

While some people assume cashmere is difficult to maintain, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Cashmere is wrinkle-resistant, therefore, it doesn’t require ironing before or after each use. We recommend that you avoid washing your cashmere product too often. Cashmere is self-cleaning, and those poopy diaper smells will disappear quickly. This is thanks to cashmere’s natural antibacterial properties.

For messy children, no worries, cashmere is stain resistant!

Hand wash your little ones' cashmere outfit in cold water using mild soap or baby shampoo. Or if you are a busy mommy just like me, you can put it in a mesh washing bag and run the cycle on delicate (some washing machines come with a cashmere cycle). Then air dry by laying it on a flat surface and voila!

It is safer!

Cashmere has natural fire-resistant properties and when it is exposed to fire, while it will smolder, it will not melt onto the skin, and it can self–extinguish once the source of the flame has gone out.

There are many benefits of cashmere for your babies and kids beyond just its divine softness and indulgently silky feel. I can keep going on, but I believe I have laid down a lot of arguments to convince you to give it a try for your little ones. I am a true convert, and my babies have grown up wearing cashmere. I live what I preach and yes, I did make a business out of something I believe in, and I want all mommies to know how amazing this material is for their young ones.
